Andrea Petkovic Out of French Open and Wimbledon

German media are reporting that Andrea Petkovic is out of action for 3 months. Top German player twisted her ankle while playing the second round in her home tournament, Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, against Victoria Azarenka. Out of action for 3 means, Petkovic will not be participating in French Open and Wimbledon. This also puts a question about her participation in Olympics which starts at 27th July, 2012. According to the journalist, Angelica Fratini, "Petkovic ruptured 2 ligaments in her right ankle. the 3rd ligament has also been overstretched. The decision about a possible operation will be taken by Petkovic after further examinations". She missed Australian Open early this year due to back injury. 2012 is turning out to be a disaster for the German who had been doing very well in 2011 to achieve her career highest ranking of No.9 in October. Get well soon, Petkovic. WTA needs you back soon.

3. It was extremely nice gesture from World No.1 Victoria Azarenka to bring ice pack for her opponent and help her off the court.

Soon after Petkovic was injured, many of her peers tweeted their regards. And Petkovic was accompanied to doctor by her good friend Julia Goerges. This is what makes WTA so rocking. These girls support each other so well.

In press conference, Petkovic told "I will be back". That's the spirit, Petko. Get well soon.

She has struck right back at Aga (who had earlier claimed what Vika had been doing in the semis of Qatar Open,2012 was not right image for women's tennis and she had lost respect for her) by saying "I hope I was a good example of women's tennis" right after her win against Aga.
